UPS acquires NRG’s engine services business unit

Universal Plant Services (UPS), a Jones Industrial Holdings company, has acquired the assets of the engine services business unit of NRG, which supplies parts and services for large-bore engines and natural gas reciprocating compressors. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“UPS is honored to add this extraordinary team and their expertise, processes, and infrastructure to our organization,” said Jones Industrial Holdings Co-Chief Executive Officer Bradley Jones. “Strategically growing upon the strength of our existing midstream services and assets will equip us with the footprint and bandwidth to best serve our clients across the United States.”

UPS invested in the midstream sector in 2012 and has steadily experienced growth throughout the past four years. This acquisition represents the next level of commitment to enabling more comprehensive shop and field solutions for clients, as well as expanding expertise across all equipment manufacturers and increasing the inventory of the UPS parts service line.
